(Q) Who can buy from Downies?
(A) Anybody can buy directly from Downies. Our wholesale price is available to all customers and we offer a discount to trade and bulk buyers.

(Q) What is the minimum purchase requirements to buy off Downies?
(A) There is no minimum purchase requirements, for flowers we sell by the bunch which are made up normally of between 5 - 10 stems and our sundries are sold in the lot they are in. We don't break up bunches or packets.

(Q) Can I buy a flower arrangement or a bouquet from Downies?
(A) We offer you the opportunity to buy flowers and floral accessories at wholesale prices so that you get to "choose your own flowers and arrange them yourself". All the materials are available at Downies for you to do this. We are not able to arrange and gift wrap flowers.

(Q) Can I purchase flowers and floral accessories over the phone?
(A) Yes. We have at our disposal a reliable courier service and accept both Mastercard & Visa.

(Q) How do I get the best life out of my flowers?
(A) The first thing you need to do is take off all the foliage that is going to be below the water level and cut about 20mm off the steams. Next put the flowers in tepid water flowers don't like cold water straight out of the tap. Finally you need to keep the water clean there are a couple of ways of doing this you can change the water every couple of days or you can use a flower preservative like 'Chrysal' which keeps the water clean as well as feeding the flowers.

(Q) Where do you source your flowers from?
(A) We get most of our flowers off local growers and the Christchurch flower auction. Sometimes there are flowers grown out of season in the North Island that we are able to get from verious sources. We also buy off a flower importer who imports tropical flowers and foliages from other pacific islands.
